Biography

Professor Jakub Doležel completed postgraduate studies in Systematic Theology and a Doctor of Practical Theology at Palacký University Olomouc, in the Czech Republic. He is an Assistant Professor in Palacký University Olomouc, Sts Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology, Department of Christian Social Work.

Research

Dr. Doležel’s research and education focus on social work history, theological interpretation of social work, spiritual sensitivity in social work practice, church social work, and Catholic Charities. He is currently the Principal Investigator for the Project on Applied Research for Social Work Innovation Implementing the Concept of Spiritual Sensitivity (SPIRISEN-SW), Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (Funding Program for Applied Research, Experimental Development and Innovation in Social Sciences and Humanities). This project addresses spiritual diversity in the Czech population, most of whom identify as non-religious, as well as those who are religious.
