The Academy of Korean Studies is a prestigious academic institute dedicated to research on Korea. CIKC has been established to help locate distorted information on Korea and to provide the impetus and advice to correct it.
KU is partnering with Hallym University for inter-university exchanges and study abroad. Hallym is a major private university in South Korea. Hallym has been named a "Distinguished University" by the Korean Ministry of Education for a number of years, and it was ranked one of the top ten universities in Korea by the Joong-Ang Daily newspaper in 2003.
The Center for East Asian Studies (CEAS) at the University of Kansas was founded in 1959 and today remains the only such resource center in the entire Great Plains region. Its aim is to enhance skills in, and the knowledge and awareness of, the languages, traditions and the contemporary importance of East Asia among all the people of our state and nation.
